From the very start, Jenny Morgan exhibited a distinct approach and resolve that would position her career amongst the upper echelon of contemporary painters. Plus Gallery owner Ivar Zeile produced two major publications, New Territory and We are all setting suns, that capture her full output from her first decade as an exhibiting artist, extensive hardbound tomes that would preserve the excitement and integrity of her formative years. A third soft cover publication, Jenny Morgan: Self Portraits in Colorado Collections, was later added in support of the only major exhibition to showcase the depth and relevance of her highly sought self portraits, focal to her developing practice. rior to the first major expansion of Morgan’s collector base upon her relocation to New York City from Denver, Plus Gallery produced the limited run soft cover publication Jenny Morgan First Four, capturing her first four essential bodies of work created between 2003 -2005, which led up to her inclusion in the inaugural Outwin Boochever Portraiture Competition, hosted by the National Gallery. The publication captures the intriguing nature of her early paintings, accompanied by text written by then Denver Poet Laureate Chris Ransick.
