Atomic Elroy Blackmails Colorado Springs

+ gallery artist Atomic Elroy will begin blackmailing Colorado Springs Colorado, USA starting July 8th 2005. According to Elroy, " I HAVE THE EVIDENCE OF YOUR SECRET LIFE", and "IF YOU DON'T PAY UP I'LL SELL MY STORY TO THE PRESS", also "I TOLD YOU NEVER TO CALL ME HERE, SOMEONE WILL FIND OUT", not to mention "I'LL SEND THE NEGATIVES TO THE POLICE IF YOU DON'T SEND THE MONEY" causing citizens to panic. Prominent civic leaders are refusing to comment, as he may be talking about them. In reality Atomic Elroy has flexed his art muscle by venturing out of his safety zone of time based media ( video, installation, performance ) and created a series of sculptures that are intended as visual puns and will be displayed on the 100 block of East Bijou Street in downtown Colorado Springs ( see photo below). These sculptures were created by Atomic Elroy who "considers himself an Art Humorist" as part of the Downtown Partnership's Art in the Streets program. The sculpture consist of 4 mailboxes painted black with the slogans above in white stenciled letters. "It's a visual pun that I hope will be taken in the humorous manner it's intended, unless of course it evokes someone guilty conscience, then I suggest consulting your psychiatrist, spiritual adviser, or local law enforcement authorities." said Elroy.
