ACCLAIMED ASPEN SHORTSFEST TO COMMENCE ON APRIL 6th

Filmmakers from around the world will gather in Aspen, Colorado from April 6 – 10 for the 14th edition of Aspen Shortsfest at the Wheeler Opera House and other locations in Aspen, Carbondale, and Glenwood Springs. The Best of Aspen Shortsfest 2005 will also take place at Denver’s Starz FilmCenter the weekend of April 15. Aspen Shortsfest is widely recognized as one of the world’s finest international short film showcases, with nearly 2,000 entries from 60 countries submitted to the festival. Filmmakers compete for over $20,000 in cash and prizes and top winners may qualify for Academy Award consideration. In the last three years alone, eight Shortsfest winners have gone on to receive Oscar nominations! Much more than a competition, Aspen Shortsfest is an intimate forum where filmmakers and audiences interact at screenings, panels, workshops, and more. We highly recommend getting away for this extremely fine event....tickets are available through their website beginning April 30th, and a festival schedule will be online shortly.
