MAYOR'S OFFICE ANNOUNCES NEW DENVER POET LAUREATE TODAY
Mayor John Hickenlooper and the Denver Office of Cultural Affairs have announced the appointment of Chris Ransick as the new Poet Laureate of Denver. A reception and official ceremony for Mr. Ransick will take place on Wednesday, March 22, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Denver Public Library’s Central Branch, 10 W. 14th Avenue Parkway, in the Vida Ellison Gallery on the 7th Floor. This event is free and open to the public. In addition, Mayor Hickenlooper will announce a new poetry and visual arts initiative through the Denver Office of Cultural Affairs at the gathering.
